2010 in MD doh

Well,

It's 2010, my wife, myself, & our child have moved back to MD. Still no job prospect in the near future (I thought Baltimore, MD had tons of jobs ?!). Big difference from Charleston, SC it's been close to 0 degrees the first 2 weeks we have been back but it is starting to warm up (only to 50). Sadly I do miss the warm weather year round, but we never really went to the beach that often, & Max needs to know about seasons. I have been helping my dad with some light IT tasks part time to gain some $, but nowhere near enough to call it a job. Yeah...living with Cassie's 2 youngest brothers is completely too cramped & FREEZING we NEED to get out of there ! So far though I have been studying to attempt the A+ exam in order to better my resume, at least it's better than the MCSE (only needs to be re-taken every 3 to 4 years rather than every 1 to 2 years). Next on my plate for certifications my dad says should be the Net+, but I'd rather go for the ACE (Apple Certified Engineer) but that means flying out to Cupertino ! If anyone reads this should I try for a Linux certification ? Not much else going on until I find some sort of career job to support my family and get us back into our own place (hoping for a house, do not want to deal with annoying apartment neighbors).

Beach Art

Today my wife & I went to the beach @ IOP in Charleston, SC and saw this guy making a true piece of art with sand. He had gotten there in the morning and had dug 2 holes, each about 5 feet deep, 3 feet wide, & 4 feet long. According to the artist he said each hole took about 30 mins to dig and that he had been there all day and when we left the sand castle wasn't even completed ! I have never seen such a stable sand castle using the sand at that beach, but the wet sand there is very hard, which is what the internal of this castle's structure was using with dry sand on the exterior walls. As you can see in the pictures he is using a spade to cut into the walls of the castle to make them look like brick on 2 sides and various other small cutting tools to design a flowing pattern on the other 2 walls of the castle. When my wife & I left he was still going to cut two other stairwells and other doorways into the walls of this piece of art.

my review of :

Radiohead - In Rainbows

Very much a throw back to OK Computer with a nod to Kid A. But if a band wants to say screw the industry and give away their album for download I'm all for that, even if the double cd album comes out in January. All I hope is that Thom Yorke keeps up with his thoughts of the industry and gives away the 2nd cd of the album come January.
